PMI writes “Project Management Profession is Expected to Survive, Thrive Despite the Troubled Economy”. The article states that there are two factors at work: a shift in demographics and a growth in global projects worldwide. The article refers to the 2008 survey by the Anderson Economic Group that shows the number of global projects is expected to keep growing significantly, and the global GDP in projectized industries is expected to increase by $4.5 trillion by 2016. In addition, between 2006 and 2016, the number of project-oriented employees will grow by an estimated 8.2 million.
